Immune-Boosting Ginger Lemon Sick Tea
It’s been quite the ride over the past couple of months and my immune system is feeling it! With my breakup, move (and more anticipated moves to come), I’ve definitely been in a more heightened state of stress, which takes a toll on your immune system. You’ll know this if you’ve ever crammed for exams or amped yourself up for a busy work week ahead, only to find that you get sick after. That’s because all of the stress wore down all of the good bacteria in your gut, where your immune system lives, making you more susceptible to getting sick.
During times like this, I really make a point to narrow in on my stress management strategies including natural supplementation, meditation, deep breathing and movement.
But when I really need to kick my sickness to the curb, I’ll blend up this Immune-Boosting Ginger Lemon Sick Tea. It’s basically all of the top immune-boosting foods in one zingy, ginger-y warm beverage. Okay, it might be missing bone broth (an AMAZING immune-boosting food) but for good reason, as that wouldn’t be very good in combination with the other ingredients, haha.
If you’re feeling a bit under the weather right now, I hope this drink makes you feel better. It may not solve all of your sick woes, as things like sleep, stress management, whole foods (or #RealAssFood), water and even more sleep are super important when nourishing yourself back to health. But it’ll surely get you on the path to feeling better very soon!
