How To Go From Energy Drains to Energy GAINS

Wow. Since we've chatted last, I've made some BIG moves.

  • I ended a relationship with a man I've been dating here in Mexico City for 3 months

  • I quit my gym membership (in exchange for Yin Yoga and nature walks!)

  • I announced my first in-person event (and am about to announce even more for you Torontonians, soon. STAY TUNED!)

  • I made a decision around when I was officially coming home to Toronto for the Summer

And, guess what?

All of those decisions were *so* easy.

I had to ask myself why, because that hasn't been the case for me in the past. I was the queen of indecision, or the "I'm cool with going with the flow" girl. You, too ?

What I believe is the reason is because of how connected I am to my heart and truth right now. I'm fresh on the other side of spending a week in Tulum on retreat where we spent 3 hours a day in ceremony getting clear on who we are and what we're meant to do here. You know, just some light hearted questions (lol).

I came out of it with a laser sharp vision and intuition, and when you operate from that place, decision making becomes easy, including:

- What needs to stay
- What needs to go
- What I need more of

On the other side of those decisions, I am feeling SO much lighter.

You don't realize how much these "energy drains" of living out of alignment are truly draining your energy until you are free of them.

, maybe as you're reading this, you're realizing there are some things in your life that need to go, but you're scared, or still not 100% sure.

I hear you ... AND, your energy and vitality matters.

And so, I wanted to give you some questions to noodle on this week to help you get more in the energy GAIN lane, rather than the energy DRAIN lane.

I recommend treating this question-asking much like a ritual or ceremony (i.e. carve out a time and space where you can be alone, light candles, drop in with a meditation or short breathwork and make sure you have your journal and a pen handy).

Questions To Get Clear On What Is Draining Your Energy

  • Are my basic needs being met? (i.e. Am I drinking enough? Eating enough? Sleeping enough? Having enough fun?)

  • Who am I around when I walk away feeling better? Who am I around when I walk away feeling worse, or very tired?

  • Someone asks you if you want to go do _____________ and it feels like a FULL BODY YES. What is it?

  • Someone asks you if you want to go do _____________ and it feels like a HELL TO THE NO. What is it?

  • Do an analysis of a day in the life: List out everything you do and people you often engage with. Next to each item, write out "DRAIN" or "GAIN"

  • When you're absolutely exhausted, what do you do to bring yourself back to life? Note this down under "Energy GAINS"
