Key Takeaways:

  • If you aren’t feeling fulfilled in your job, it’s likely that that’s affecting other areas of your life and you might be turning to food or other things to cope as a result of that unhappiness.

  • There are experiences that you need to go through to prepare you for what’s next, whether it’s teaching you something that you need to know or showing you what you really don’t want to do.

Action Steps:

  • Keep in mind that, if you’re in a place where you’re not feeling very happy or satisfied, you can change it. Here are some tips if you are trying to find your way to a very fulfilling and rewarding job:

  • Follow your gut! Nothing is unrealistic. Anything is possible. Try pursuing something as a hobby first and see if you like it.

  • Coffee dates. Talk to people! Ask them if they like their job and learn all about it.

  • Make a list of everything you have ever liked in a job and things you don’t like. Get clear on that so then you won’t settle.

  • Network and connect with people.

  • If you’re a natural health practitioner, a key tool is to meet clients where they’re at. When a client comes to you and says, “I’m a busy professional, I have no time to meal prep,” find realistic solutions instead of advising them to find 3 hours in the week to meal prep.

Rachel said:

“You spend most of your life working, and wishing for the day that you retire is simply wishing your life away. Work is work and some days are going to be hard and stressful, but the goal is to get to a place where the rewarding and amazing days are outnumbering the negative ones.”

“Our ability to stick to a plan wasn’t a result of not knowing enough, it was actually knowing too much that was paralyzing us.”
